Rejoicing

Worry.

Worry is to give way to anxiety or unease; to allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

Worry is a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems.

This is something we often do that is so natural for us. Yet the Lord calls us to do the unatural, the unpopular, and the unexpected.

No matter what difficulties or problems that may occur in our lives, He is constant. It is easier said than done some may say, as diffculites vary from one person to another. And it is okay to feel hurt, upset or devastated. Yet we have a choice, we have the ability with the Holy Spirit within us to overcome difficulties as the Lord overcame the world.

Recently I’ve understood how temporary everything is. God can easily take away our peace of mind, our bank accounts, or our loved ones, and yes even the ones with pawprints.

He can often not give us the answer we are looking or hoping for.

But do we trust Him? Do we trust that the Creator of the Universe who is also our Good Father knows what is best for His beloved Children? Do we trust that He knew what He was doing in the first place?

As Habakkuk put it:

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be jopyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.”

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Outgrow

I’ve spent a lot of time feeling insecure and that something was wrong with the friendship I offered to others. People will often put you in a box whether your single, married, have kids, or even by what you believe- this is a way for them to leave you out of things or to even push you away.

I know the friendship I offer solely comes from the love of Christ and that is the best love someone could offer. There is no condemnation in Christ, however most people shy away from that kind of love because it’s too “biblical” and not “worldly” enough.

Often times I am pushed away, uninvited and not considered. But that isn’t my burden to bear anymore, it isn’t something for me to ponder on, striving to figure out what is wrong with me.

Ultimately, some people are meant to stay in our lives and others are not. I am thankful for the true friends I have today.

Believe in the type of friendship you offer, be blessed by the true friends you have in your life and be there for those who are often not thought of.

“If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Ecclesiastes 4:10

REVIVAL

When we look to the book to Isaiah, we stumble upon God’s chosen people who did not remain faithful to Him. Although God wanted to pour out his blessings among them, they succumbed to their own refusal to surrender and trust God.

They lived as though they could manipulate who God was by striving to find Him in empty vices.
